[Translate to Englisch:]The program begins with an introductory seminar lasting several days in Oldenburg. Together with other exchange students, you will be prepared for what awaits you here.
In small working groups, important topics, practical life support and aspects of the entire program are dealt with.
Seminar contents:
- life in a German host family
- the German school system
- Insurance matters
- Reporting obligation
- Residence permit
- Pocket money
- Program Policies
We also discuss the following questions:
- How do I open a bank account?
- What do I need to know about using public transport?
- Which authority is responsible for what?
- What to do if I get sick?

[Translate to Englisch:] Start in the north of Germany with students from different countries
If you want to spend a whole school year in Germany (starting in summer), you will start your stay with other exchange students in the international group in Oldenburg. Of course, you will also explore the interesting city together. In addition, there is a varied leisure programme. You will have a lot of fun and enough time to sniff a bit of the special atmosphere of this typical North German city.
In these first days you will have enough opportunity to get to know both the international group of ICX exchange students and the responsible ICX employees. It is simply good to take the first steps together in a foreign country.
All costs – hotel, full board, leisure programme as well as the journey from Oldenburg to the host family's place of residence – are already included in the programme price.
The introductory seminar in winter takes place from 5 participants. If less than 5 participants start the program in winter, each participant receives an individual introduction.
