At ICX, we take the utmost care in the selection of these families. After all, it's about making you feel well welcomed and secure. Among other things, cosmopolitanism, sociability and tolerance are required. By the way, the same qualities that are expected of you in addition to flexibility and adaptability.
Only families in stable social and financial circumstances are eligible. From our point of view, this is the prerequisite for you to be able to live together with your host family in a safe, trusting atmosphere. By the way: The host parents do not receive any money for their hospitality.
Everything, just no coincidence
We want you to feel comfortable. But who suits whom? This is exactly what we at ICX try to filter out in advance. In this way, certain preferences – from both sides – are taken into account. So it's important that you honestly formulate your hobbies and other interests in your application.

As you can imagine, there is no "typical" German host family. Host families differ in terms of their social and professional position, education and family composition. In addition to conventional families, there are also childless couples who like to take in an exchange student. The same applies to single mothers or fathers and parents whose children no longer live at home. Some of them live in a big city, others in the countryside.

Even before your trip to Germany, you will receive extensive information material including the address and telephone number of the host family. So there is the possibility to contact from home. In a direct way and in peace and quiet, you can then discuss how you imagine a functioning coexistence.
